CS 6744 - AI Seminar (Current Research on CSP)
Seminar organizer: Professor Weixiong Zhang
Time: Friday, 2:00pm - 3:00pm
Location: Bryan 509C

In the Fall 2000 semester, the main focus of this seminar course will be constraint satisfaction problem (CSP). Specifically, the three major topics are:

  1. Soft constraints and algorithms,
  2. Distributed CSP (DCSP) and distributed algorithms for DCSP,
  3. CSP in multiagent systems and real-world problems.
The overall goals of this course include:
  1. To provide an opportunity to learn the current research on CSP,
  2. To learn how to quickly grasp and summarize the main ideas and results of a publication,
  3. To explore alternative approaches to the problems considered in a paper, and
  4. To find interesting and workable research topics.
The participants are expect to read a set of selected papers. Each participant will give a presentation on one or two papers, and lead a discussion on the presented paper(s). The overall setting is informal but stimulating. Graduate students in all research areas are welcome to register or participate.
