EuroPLoP-96 Conference Site Info

General Information

EuroPLoP will be held at Kloster Irsee, a former Benedictine monastery, in the heart of Bavaria, Germany. Its history can be traced back to the 12th century, and the buildings we see today were erected in the beginning of the 18th century.

Sports

The monastery offers a sauna and a bowling alley. Both are free of charge. There are lots of jogging, hiking and mountain biking trails around the monastery. There is also a small lake nearby (10 min by foot). Bring your sports suits and equipment with you, if you like. You will have enough time for sports activities during nap-time and in the evenings.

Accomodation

Accommodation is available on site. There are single and double rooms, all with shower, bath, phone, and mini-bar. Note that phone and mini-bar are not included in the conference fee. Some of you will be assigned to double rooms (like at PLoP), but changes are certainly possible. All rooms are non-smoking.

If you wan't to bring your family with you, please contact the monastery directly (see the address above). There won't be space at the monastery itself, but there is a nice hotel just 75m accross the yard. The staff at Irsee will help you with a reservation. However, there is no guarantee that your requests can be served.
