A frozen version of the ACE, TAO, and CIAO middleware frameworks have been setup in on the Linux machines with names {ics7055-ics7072}.vuse.vanderbilt.edu in FGH 201. Here are instructions on how to access these middleware frameworks:

• Define environment variable ACE_ROOT to point to directory where ACE is installed.
  • In our Linux lab it will be: /usr/local/ACE_Wrappers. You can remotely connect to the Linux machines via secure shell ssh. The default .cshrc on these Linux machines should automatically set your ACE_ROOT environment variable (but please ensure that this is the case). We will use GCC compiler v3.3.

  • For people who want to use Windows it will be the following C:\ACE_wrappers, assuming you have installed ACE+TAO+CIAO there. Instructions for downloading, building, and installing ACE+TAO+CIAO are available online.

• We will use the Make Project Creator (MPC) tool for our builds.
