Workshop Organization

1. Short introduction of the workshop attendees and organizers (max 10min).

2. Brief introduction to the key topics by the organizers (max 20min). Topics covered include:
   What are patterns?
   Overview of the patterns community (i.e., evolution, important literature, etc.)
   Outline key issues in concurrent, parallel, and distributed systems

   Presentation and discussion of concrete patterns in a writer's workshop session. The position papers describing concrete patterns will be discussed in a form that is well-suited for reviewing written works.
