This is an assistant for ebay browsing which automatically retrieves
item descriptions, seller feedback, and bidder names. It is mainly
useful for batch-mode browsing (i.e., browsing that is less interactive
so that you can do other things while you are waiting for the server
to return its results). The bottleneck is always at the ebay server
and the image host servers (you can verify this by selecting the
white-font/hidden text at the bottom of any results page). Images are cached
on our server and compressed, so this can be used as base software for
support of thin clients. The ebay URL's and display formats are constantly
changing, so don't expect that this script will always work. This tool
can also be used to verify seller listings.
For a demo, just click on the demo button with the default settings.
Some notes: seller ratings are in red if they are 50 or lower. Negative
feedback is in red, with responses; neutral feedback is in gray, with
responses. All links will open in a new window, except the proper ebay
search. Compressed images have thick borders and link to their
uncompressed cached versions. Repeated images are the result of gallery
images. Broken images are usually the result of redirects. The User ID
is currently meaningless. Your browser can time-out if there are too many
items and the ebay/imagehost servers are slow. Completed items are in
table cells with dark gray backgrounds.
