RULES: PART I SIGNING BAD NDA'S UNDER PRESSURE CAN HAVE BAD CONSEQUENCES . consider ndas/mda1 and mda2 . mda2 has been weakened in two places . for next tuesday, you may submit a revised version of mda2 to any other team of your choice, so long as that team has not received any other mda's that day. you will create mda3 which weakens mda2 in exactly two places. weakening should be incontrovertible and obvious to any careful reader. you should print (you may typeset) each agreement on a separate page. . the receiving team has exactly five minutes to choose to mda2 or your mda3. if they can identify the weaker mda3, they will receive $5000 from the other team. if they cannot identify the weaker mda3, and choose "to sign" mda2 instead, then you (your team) will receive $5000 from them. PART II WELL WORDED NDA'S CAN STRENGTHEN COLLABORATIONS! . consider ndas/nda1 and nda2 . nda2 strengthens nda1 in two places. . for tuesday, each manager should print as many copies of this nda2 so that each of his/her workers can be given a copy (ACTUALLY I AM BRINGING THE COPIES -- DISREGARD THIS) . each employee will have 1 minute to alter the agreement ONLY BY ADDING text, so as to weaken the requirements. . the manager will then have 5 minutes to respond to each amendment, by strenghtening the requirements, ONLY BY ADDING TEXT. . this process will be repeated twice. . at the end, all agreements come to the course instructor for valuation. if they are interesting, they may be worth as much as $3000 to each party. if they are uninteresting, they have no value. interestingness is in the eye of the course instructor.
