	Rules of the Assignment:

You are to deliver a design of a logo/banner AND a design for
the decorated presentation text.

You will produce the text in in HTML using a lot of photoshop, and the
logo in photoshop. You will place both on a webserver so that they can be
viewed live during classes.

Your URL should not contain any spaces or special characters.

You will work individually.

You will not receive comments, but will simply receive a score
from 1-10 with the main aim of deciding which is best.
External opinions will be solicited for scoring the designs.

You may seek help from others or from the TA, but the expectation is
that you will be presenting your own work that is the product of your
own mind and your own effort.

	Design Problems:

The LOGO/BANNER is for one of the following (your choice):

The BBC "Beware of Bird Flu Pandemic" nightly update segment

The New Cyd Charisse Wraps and Bowls Restaurant in West Hollywood

My former student's film company, see
	http://www.scapegoat.net/index.html

The CEC, center for engineering computing

	EBAY (the online auction site)

The logo should be small enough to fit (or to scale to fit) about
10-20% of a normal web page. It should either be banner style,
at least 100x400 and no more than 300x1100, or it should fit
in a square at least 100x100 and no larger than 500x500.

The TEXT is one of the following (your choice):

Patrick Fitzgerald's statement on the indictment of Lewis Libby,
using any one of the sections beginning with "FITZGERALD" in
	http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/28/AR2005102801340.html

The first screenful of this web page
	http://www.logicandlanguage.net/archives/2005/06/

Any one of these amendments to the Constitution of the United States,
	http://www.whitehouse.gov/kids/constitution/amendments11-27.html

	Any poem from Amy Lowell:
	http://www.americanpoems.com/poets/amylowell/

Any section of this John Travolta interview:
	http://www.well-rounded.com/movies/reviews/travolta2_intv.html

The text should be largely visible in a single screen shot at a
reasonable resolution/font combination, possibly scrolling to reveal
as much as 50% of th text.

The design problems are independent -- you do not need to reference the
logo with the text or vice versa.

You may grab images and text from any source on web. Or you can scan
anything you find.

Your should disclose (possibly with links at the bottom) any place
where you took text, images, or visual inspiration!
