To: customerservice@networksolutions.com, reportspam@verisignmail.com From: David Levine <[********]> Subject: spam from NetSol *private registrant* Date: Fri, 02 Jan 2004 10:46:08 -0600 Hello, I received the spam below from your registrant, forensicguard.com. Their current whois info also appears below. Three issues/requests: 1) Your registrant appears to have violated their contractual obligations. Hiding behind the NetSol private registration seems to me to be a flagrant abuse; would you please terminate all services for them _immediately_? 2) The NetSol private registration facility seems to be an invitation for this kind of abuse. forensicguard.com is a case in point; spammers don't play by the rules, so they will clearly abuse it as they find out about it. 3) This is a _VERY_ disturbing feature of private registration: This listing is a Network Solutions Private Registration. Mail correspondence to this address must be sent via USPS Express Mail(TM) or USPS Certified Mail(R); all other mail will not be processed. So, in order to contact your abusive private registrants, _*I*_ must pay for premium mail delivery service!!!! The spammer spends _nothing_ to utilize my computer resources. Now Network Solutions requires me to pay to respond! I know that you usually don't respond to spam complaints. But in this case, would you kindly respond to me? Your private registration facility appears to _harm_ mortal users' ability to fight spam; I'd like to find out how you are going to fix that. (Soon :-) Please note that I have already contacted Comcast, the owner of the Internet address from which the spam was apparently sent. And I filed a whois problem report with Internic. And I called NetSol, and addressed this email to both NetSol and Verisign (as directed by NetSol customer service). I apologize for multiple contacts to NetSol, but I have learned from past experience that that it is sometimes necessary. If you have any suggestions on streamlining my complaint process, I'm open to them. Yours in fighting spam, David Levine <[********]> 8<----------8<----------8<----------8<----------8<----------8<----------8<---- Whois record for forensicguard.com: Registrant: Mourning, Daniel ATTN: FORENSICGUARD.COM c/o Network Solutions P.O. I know some of you use those windows washers and scrubbers, and others like it, but what I’ve found, through research, is that these programs are ENTIRELY ineffective if someone knows how to retrieve info from your computer’s hard drive! Let’s say someone sends you, or you accidentally download an image that is questionable as far a being illegal is concerned. So you quickly delete it and wonder if the FBI is going to be knocking on your door soon. People DO GO TO PRISON, LOSE THEIR CAREERS and FAMILIES, sometimes unnecessarily! Well, the answer to your problems is a program called Evidence Eliminator, version 5.x! It is simply the best PC security application in the WORLD! It can even clean your hard drive to a level beyond Department of Defense specifications! If you go to my website (http://www.forensicguard.com) you'll be able to access independent reviews. I tried it, bought it, and I was so impressed with the ease of use, and how powerful this program really is, I decided to become an associate of the parent company, Robin Hood, Ltd. Through my affiliation with them, I am able to offer this software at the MAXIMUM discount. You just can’t find it anywhere for less. The program retails for $149.95, and I’m able to offer it to you at a FRACTION of that price, but you'll have to visit my website at http://www.forensicguard.com ------- End of Forwarded Message
