We propose to develop a video testbed for research on constant quality video compression algorithms and their effect on the underlying delivery mechanism. We plan to use this testbed to bring a richer understanding of digital video networking in our computer networking our computer networking course as well as possibly a new course on multimedia networking. We want to investigate the network support necessary for the delivery of non-interactive stored video sources as well as interactive video on demand.
