Sporadic Posts
Apparently, each time I think I will keep posting consistently
to this blog, something else happens which takes my attention
away. In the past few months I've been working on a few
different things, all of them quite interesting.
Some of my time has been devoted to the
Cell
processor. I hope to be able to share with the community some of
the developed software,
as well as some of the interesting results we found. For the
time being, those of you
who are curious enough can take a look at the
CellBE Blog I've
setup.
Something else that has captured a good deal of my attention are Complex Systems,
and specifically nature inspired techniques applied to complex systems. On this matter,
I've recently submitted a paper on clock synchronization
for large scale dynamic distributed
systems which relys on the same mechanism used by firefly to synchronize their flashing.

Six Degrees
A few days ago I started reading the book Six Degrees from Duncan J. Watts. The book a nice overview of Duncan seminal work on so called Small-Worlds, and Network Theory. It reads quite nicely, and the only thing I missed here and there there was a bit more of math. In general it is a very nice book worth reading it!
