- We have a new baby boy, Sawyer John, and I've finally gotten a chance to put some pictures up! I also changed the way things work a bit, and have photos divided up intro categories. Let me know if you find things confusing...
Things to Look At
This is Cleeland Family Picture Central; if you're looking for pictures of people, then this is where you should be. Previous visitors may notice that things look a little different because I've taken the time to divide pictures into categories, which I've listed below:
- Pictures of Sarah
- Pictures of Sawyer
- Christmas 1999
- Pat's Graduation
- Easter 1999
- Miscellaneous Pictures
Most photos were taken with either an Olympus D400-Zoom or a Sony Mavica.
The Cast
I got married on June 29, 1991, after knowing Pat for almost four years. We now have a wonderful family:
- Pat
- My best friend, who also happens to be my wife. We've known each other since college, where we met and dated. But, we were friends long before we dated, which (sometimes) makes things easier. Pat is currently studying to be a Presbyterian minister, and I'm very proud of her, even though I'm not terribly denominationally religious. She is already a vibrant force in her school and in her student ministries, and I'm very happy to support her dream-come-true.
- Sarah
- Born December 27, 1995, she is truly amazing. Personally, I believe she is very advanced for her age, but I might be a little biased. She has a limited understandable vocabulary, though she tries to communicate about nearly everything. I really enjoy spending time with her playing in the backyard, going to the park, and in general just observing her learning about the world. Isn't she cute?
- Sawyer
- The latest addition. Salient details are here until I get a chance to update things completely.
- Rage
- Our name for him is the shortened form of his kennel name, Hibernian Courage. Born in May 1993, he is almost polar in his moods: either ready for boisterous play or content to just lay around on our futon, or wherever he can find a good spot in the sun. His coloring one of the more unusual in the boxer world: "black brindle".
Ancestry
I'm very interested in tracking my ancestry, mostly because I know very little about prior Cleeland generations. I'm starting to collect information and email addresses about other Cleelands on the net. Here are some links to other Cleelands:
- Pennsylvania Cleelands
- Peter Cleeland, Australian Senator
- Nancy Cleeland, Staff Writer at LA Times
- The Cleelands Mailing List
Cleelands/Clelands/etc. of the Past
I want to put a button here that you can click on and search the various search engines for
- JAMES KNEELAND
- the second of that Ilk (Cleland) helped restore the liberties of Scotland, he supported the cause of Robert the (King Robert II), being severely wounded in battle of Bannockburn. His loyalty to the cause of Scotland was rewarded by Bruce with the gift of several lands in the Barony of Calder, West Lothian in Linlithgowshire (now lanarkshire), which remained in the family for nearly three hundred years. This is where the Cleland House was was located.
Cleelands, but I even though I've figured it out (sorta), I haven't had the time yet.
