I obtained my undergraduate degree from Pitzer College, majoring in Applied Mathematics. I attended couses at Harvey Mudd, Pomona and Pitzer in the Claremont group. I returned to my native St. Louis to pursue a Masters in Artificial Intelligence at Washington University.

My current assignment is being a contract Manager / Analyst for Exegy Incorporated, Otherwise, I am working as a senior research associate (staff position) for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering here at Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri. Currently I am charged with maintaining the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) for the High Performance Biology Group. The HgWrapper (Mercury Wrapper) port manages most phases of the DNA and Protein searches through the WU Hardware and into NBCI BLAST.

My research efforts at Exegy involve evaluation of new CPUs and platforms to squeeze every possible nanosecond off the system data path. Big picture efforts involve new ways of segmenting data flows to minimize system latency. The latest Intel Nehalem-EX and New AMD processors are constantly being examined for multi-threading and Cache effects.

I am responsible for Linux 2.6.35 (and later) kernel development (ala CentOS 5.5 / RedHat 5.5 / Ubuntu / SLES / ...). I also do field testing for various hardware and software vendors. Is there something I can break for you?

As a systems analyst and consultant I have supported diverse operating systems and applications. I count original work ranging from power line transients modeling to hardware and software field testing. Listed in "Who's Who in Finance and Industry".

I possess a Rescue/Stress (SSI) certification in SCUBA obtained at the Bonne Terre lead mine (a billion gallon fish tank). Wanna go down quick?
I am also an avid Bee Keeper (fourth generation). The wild honey bee population has been decimated (97% killed) by the Varroa Mite and the Tracheal Mite. Treatments exist for both; a pesticide (Apistan) for the Varroa Mite, and pure menthol crystals for the Tracheal Mite.
